Ken¡¦inch Ikeda University of Tokyo Ken'ichi Ikeda received his Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Tokyo. Currently he works as the Chair and Professor for the Department of Social Psychology, the University of Tokyo. He is now the President of Japanese Association of Election Studies (2004-2005). His research area covers political behavior, social networks, and the effects of mass communication as well as computer mediated communication from the viewpoint of social reality construction. He is the author of several books: Changing Reality of Politics (Bokutaku-sha,1997), Networking Community (as the editor, the University of tokyo Press, 1997), Communication (the University of Tokyo Press, 2000) etc. He also publishes his papers in Political Behavior, Political Psychology, Japanese Journal of Political Science, and The Japanese Journal of Electoral Studies. Now as the principal investigator, he is directing Japanese Election Study 3 (2001-2006 National Panel survey) comparable to ANES study. He is also involving in Asian Barometer as well as JGSS (Japanese GSS) survey committees. |
