The Asian Barometer Survey is essentially a cross-national survey project. Under the data-sharing agreement among our East Asian collaborators, we have made our merged dataset which covers thirteen East Asian countries and territories and all the variables contained in our core questionnaire freely accessible to scholars and experts worldwide upon application.
To encourage academic exchange and the sharing of survey research, data from the first wave of the survey covering eight countries (Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea) were released in October 2005.In December 2011, data release for the thirteen second wave countries (Taiwan, Thailand, Mongolia, the Philippines, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia) was completed in December 2011.Data release for the third wave of the survey is scheduled to take place between 2011 and 2013. The third wave data for the Taiwan survey was released in December 2011. Subsequently, we released data from the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Singapore and Vietnam in June 2012. In March 2013, we released data from Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea and later releases data from Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Mainland China in December 2013. In 2018, we released all country data in Fouth Wave survey including 14 countries.
Now, We are pleased to announce that data from Taiwan of Wave5 Survey will be released as of July 31, 2019.
